computerWhy we are offering the animation club? Since we have completed with Future City

Design Competition for the 2011-2012 school year, the club name has been changed to the Animation Club and the club also will be an academic club. We will be preparing our students for a project based competition. There is a website that we will follow to reach our goals and create the appropriate projects. What will Animation Club students do?

Students will be learning several different programs such as, Flash Professional CS5, Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 at the beginner level. They will be able to develop a website in ThinkQuest Projects and/or produce an online journal/blog, a stand-alone website, photo essay, animation, public service announcements, video or some combination of these items and/or develop an interactive application or game.

When will the Animation Club meet?

Monday: 6th grade students (9 students) – 3 spots available

Thursday: 7th grade students (9 students) - 9 spots available

Friday: 5th grade students (9 students) - 9 spots available

What are the requirements?

  • You should not have another academic club on the same day.
  • Your GPA and discipline records will be reviewed.
  • You should be interested in the club.
  • Before you sign up see the note below.
  • If you have all of the requirements please see Mr. Kaplan to get a club sign up form.

Note: Last but not least, students in the animation club will be in the future city design team next year. We are planning to have one team for each grade level. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Kaplan.
