Summer Ventures: This is for current Sophomores and Juniors and is a cost-free, state-funded program for academically talented North Carolina residents who may pursue careers based in science and mathematics Check out their website and apply online! http://www.summerventures.org/

Discover College Life This Summer! The 2012 Emory Pre-College Program is an academic program for high school students. It gives students an exciting glimpse of academic and residential life at a top-ranked national university. High school students may enroll in classes with college students, earn transferable college credit, and explore topics with professors. For more information visit www.college.emory.edu/pre-college.

Virginia Tech College of Engineering 2 week summer residential program to develop and sustain interests of engineering and the sciences. The target population is female students who will graduate from high school in 2012-2013. Details of the program and application materials can be found at http://www.eng.vt.edu/ctech2.

Hollins University Summer Program: for young women who are rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders is located in Roanoke, VA. Students get to stay in a residence hall, eat in the dining hall, and participate in a wonderul pre-college experience. NC State -The Shelton Challenge - A one-week summer adventure for rising 9th - 12th grade students. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. There are 6 different programs during the summer of 2011.
