TMSA Summer Reading List
Reading is the key to learning.  Our summer reading lists are designed to help students spend great time with good books.  All students should read or hear at least two books during summer.

Enrollment

TMSA started with grades K-6 in 2008, and will continue adding upper grades each year to offer complete K-12 education. We are accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year for grades K-9. A lottery was held on February 19, 2010. New applications will be added to the end of the waiting list. Please click here for online application.

 
Turkish Olympiad Team brings home the Gold

Washington, D.C. hosted the Second Annual Turkish Olympiad on Sunday, April 11th at Langley High School. There were 65 finalists from six states who competed in 4 categories including Singing, Poetry, Talent, and Folklore.

Science Olympiad Team won 2nd and 3rd Places

The Science Olympiad team did great job at the regional competition on February 20th. We have won two medals, one for second place and one for third place. Brian Walters and Brendan Sledge won second place in the Battery Buggy event.

Soccer Team News

TMSA Tigers has been playing at U12 Youth Soccer League. We won our third game 6-2 against the Santa Fe Team. We would like thank to Mr. Orak, Mr. McElroy and all our families to support us during the game! Go Tigers!

International Trip Notes

We, a group of students, parents and faculties, headed to Turkey for a week-long international trip and arrived in Istanbul on March 26. Turkey is one of the most dynamic and exotic destinations and travelling in Turkey is like a voyage in time, passing from one scene, legend or world to another.

TMSA Science Fair

The 2nd Annual TMSA Science Fair had entries from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The science fair projects showed a variety of interest and unique ideas. The projects displayed a range of topics including biology, engineering, geology, and chemistry.

Breakfast with Principal

On November 17th and 19th, Principal Orak hosted breakfasts to the students with all A’s for the first quarter. The parents were also invited. It was a great turnout! The Media Center was full of guests.

Veterans Day Dinner

Veterans day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. At TMSA, we chose to honor and recognize our military veterans by hosting a dinner on Wednesday, November 11.

Math Olympiad Cottage Camp

One more unforgettable math cottage camp was written in TMSA’s history last weekend. Math Olympiad Club students were at High Rock Lake for a camp program between 7.00 pm on Friday, November 6th, and  1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th.

Welcome Picnic
Our welcome picnic was held on Sunday, September 27th , and was very successful! The weather was on our side and it turned out to be abeautiful day. The food was prepared by many staff members and they all worked very hard to prepare the chicken, meat balls, and shish-kebab.

TMSA Permanent Home

TMSA is moving to its permanent home at 700 Creek Ridge Rd. The new building is 68,000 sqft with an 11.5 acres land. The facility specially designed for school's growing needs and it provides ample classroom, lab, library and office space.

1st Place in Science Olympiad

The elementary team for Science Olympiad had a competition in Raleigh over the weekend. Students were competing in events such as “Hot,Hot,Hot, Pasta Tower”, “Describe It,  Do It”, and “Short Circuits”.

2nd Place in the Math League

We were anxiously waiting for the official results of The Math League Competition which was held on February 23rd. Finally, we have the results. The best scorer student in our school is Eli Wood. He got 37 out of 40 challenging questions right.

FLL Teams Advanced to State Level Competition

On Friday 19th, both First Lego League teams, The Black Knights & The Radio Active Ferrets, went to Greensboro Coliseum to compete at NC FLL Regional Tournament sponsored by A&T University.

Spring Picnic

Last Saturday dawned bright, sunny, & warm. It was a beautiful day for the 2nd Annual TMSA Spring Picnic held on campus. A lot of families felt the same way because we had a great turn out.  The barbeque grill was fired up and our “cooks” (Thank you, Teachers!) prepared marinated shish kabob, grilled chicken, meat burgers, and hot dogs.

Field Trip to Civil Rights Museum

The TMSA middle school students were able to tour the brand new Civil Rights Museum in Downtown Greensboro.  The students were able to reflect on the history of our city and our nation.

EOG Preparations

As a first step towards EOG preparations, we’ve completed benchmarks this month. Teachers and administrators started using the results as a guide to help our students. A second step in EOG preparations is weekend tutoring sessions.

FLL Team DC Winter Camp

The First Lego League Team, The Black Knights, had a camp program in Washington DC during the winter break.  The four days program started on Tuesday, Dec. 29th in the morning and ended on Friday, January 1st night.
