Triad Math and Science Academy was privileged to host another distinguished guest. The Greensboro Major William Knight has kindly honored TMSA’s State Flag Dedication Ceremony with his presence on October 27, 2011.

Over the course of Mayor Knight’s term in the Office, he has had the opportunity to watch Triad Math and Science Academy grow from a baby school to a “distinguished public charter school” according to NC Department of Instruction.  “It has been a challenging but exciting journey of growth and we always felt Mayor Knight’s sincere support for our students at TMSA since the very first day.” said Mr. Orak, TMSA principal.

Mayor Knight first visited the school during the early days of its opening and made sure that everything was ready to go for a brand new STEM opportunity for the children of Greensboro. “We were able to show him the fruition of his sincere support and thank him for everything he and his administration have done for TMSA.”  added TMSA parent Jackie Mosley.

Mayor Knight was able to attend our state flag dedication ceremony as we flew the state flag for the first time at our new location.  Mayor Knight mentioned how impressed he was with TMSA’s growth and how proud he was with all the TMSA students during his speech. He asked them to keep up the good work.

As Mayor Knight toured the school, staff and the members of the TMSA community were pleased to see him and had the opportunity to meet him.  One of the things Mayor Knight was excited to see was so many parents at the school volunteering and participating in their children’s education.   “What an honor this was to be a part of such a wonderful event.  I am also so glad that I was able to meet with the Mayor.” stated Ms. Jackie Moseley, parent of two TMSA students.  During the school tour he was able to observe the students in action and say, “It is amazing to see how engaged the students are in learning because you don’t see that very often.”
