Posted on 11/30/2020
Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,

We hope you enjoyed your break last week! Here are your weekly updates for this week:

(1) Thank you to those of you who took the time to complete the survey that was sent before the break. We would still love to have more participation! Your opinions and your students are very important to us especially as we navigate through this unusual year. The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete. The link is attached here.

(2) Middle School students and parents, please see the link to the Middle School awards video! We are so proud of our students and are looking forward to finishing the second quarter in December "Tiger Strong!"

(3) This is a reminder that all 7th and 12th grade students must have their updated immunization records turned in by this Tuesday, December 1. Beginning with the 2020-21 school year, students entering 12th grade are required to have a booster (second) dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine if they have not already received one. All 7th graders must present proof of immunization for a TDap Booster and Meningococcal Vaccines. For any questions, please contact our school nurse, Nurse K, at 336-621-0061 ext. 159 or

(4) The Parent Academy at TMSA will have a zoom session this Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:00 PM called "Unpacking State Standards."  During this webinar, parents will have the opportunity to gain insight into the state standards for their child’s grade level. Hope to see you then! As a reminder, all Parent Academy webinar recordings are available under the Resources tab on the Parent Academy Schoology Page for viewing at your convenience.

(5) The Parent Academy at TMSA is offering a new "English as a Second Language (ESL) Online Class for Parents!" Parents and guardians will learn English skills and gain information on how to support their student's academic success. Classes begin Tuesday, December 8th at 6:00pm.

(6) Congratulations to our Cyber Robotics HS team "Cyber Tigers" who came in 4th place (among 60 teams in 9 different states) during the preliminary round of the Cyber Robotics Coding Competition. They will be moving on to the next level of competition!

(7) Congratulations to our FTC Robotics team who has not only been working on their robot for the December scrimmage, but also found time to participate in a volunteer outreach to veterans in the Durham, NC area by rebuilding walkers for them.

If you are not a member of our Facebook page, please join! You will be able to find information regarding all of these updates and more!

We look forward to "seeing" you! Thank you and have a great week!
