Lawrence Brings 15 Years of Educational Instruction to Leadership Role

GREENSBORO, N.C., August 19, 2019 – Today, Triad Math and Science Academy, an interdisciplinary and applied learning school with a STEM focus in Greensboro, N.C., announces the hire of Sylvia Lawrence as the new Dean of Middle School Instruction.

Lawrence comes to Triad Math and Science Academy after five years as a Curriculum Facilitator and an apprenticeship under the assistant principal of Moss Street Partnership School. With approximately 15 years of cumulative experience in educational instruction and management, Lawrence will positively develop the minds of our future leaders, foster trust and build relationships between students, parents, and the community, and enhance educational outcomes for students and staff alike.

“Ms. Lawrence is a highly-skilled, seasoned educator with an impressive resume of teaching experience and instructional coaching,” said Dr. Bryant, Principal at Triad Math and Science Academy. “Student success in middle school today heavily depends on teacher preparation and effective instructional delivery. We’re fortunate to have someone with Ms. Lawrence’s professional caliber to lead our middle school team. She’s not only an asset to our teachers, but to the entirety of our school as well.”

Lawrence’s strong educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Fayetteville State University, a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of School Administration in educational leadership and administration from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She will harness her extensive curriculum facilitation and management background to implement creative techniques through research-based strategies, further instill cooperation and self-esteem in students, and grow language and problem-solving skills in the minds of young scholars.

Triad Math and Science Academy serves nearly 1,300 students in Greensboro, N.C.
